Biscuits and crackers are a quick and easy snack for hungry tummies when accompanied with a protein. The downside though is that they are often laden with sugar, contain salt and additives. Although you know what goes into home-baking, lots of recipes are high in saturated fat and sugar too… that’s why they taste so good.
This biscuit recipe is quick and easy to make, in fact so easy that your little one can make them with you. They are low in sugar, relatively low in saturated fat, contain no salt and contain whole-grains. Freddie and I had great fun baking these together on a rainy Wellington day yesterday. They are pretty tasty, I think adults will enjoy them with a good blue cheese!
Honey Yoghurt Biscuits
100g plain flour
1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
2 tsp honey
60ml natural yoghurt
Preheat oven to 200 ‘C.
Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles a grainy, sand like texture.
Place on a tray lined with grease proof paper and bake until they are just turning golden brown – about 7 minutes.
I had mine with a cup of tea. Freddie had his with slices of pear and some cheese. Enjoy!
